February 18th, 2008Portobello Panto produces punk rock and roll pantomimes, adapting traditional fairytales and staging them in a contemporary urban setting. The adaptations draw on the dark side of the tales, highlighting their continued relevance to todays society. The success of 2006’s ‘Somewhere over the Westway’ was followed by ‘A Twisted Carol’ and the fact that tickets sold out in three hours is testament to the popularity of the shows.It’s panto - but not as you know it. As one review stated “panto just got cool” and we intend to show that a Panto is for life and not just for christmas. This year they will be doing “Snow White and the Seven Drunks” at the Tabernacle from the 16th - 20th December.
